Paraffin Wax Manicure/Pedicure Treatment
A relaxing, skin-softening treatment
Treatment Description
A Paraffin Wax Manicure/Pedicure Treatment, often referred to as a "paraffin dip," is a luxurious and pampering manicure/pedicure procedure designed to nourish and rejuvenate the hands and/or feet, nails, and surrounding skin. It involves the use of paraffin wax, a soft, colourless, and odourless wax derived from petroleum, to create a soothing and moisturising experience. The Paraffin Wax Treatment includes: - Traditional manicure - nail shaping & cuticle care - Several layers of liquid paraffin wax are dipped onto the hands and/or feet, covering the palms/feet, fingers/toes, and wrists/ankles. It forms a thick, warm, and comfortable glove-like coating - Hands are then wrapped in a hated glove. The encapsulation helps retain heat, allowing the wax to deeply penetrate the skin - Rest with hands/feet for around 10-15 minutes - After the resting period, the wax is gently peeled off leaving the hands feeling soft and supple - Moisturising lotion applied to further hydrate and nourish the skin with hand/feet massage Benefits of a Paraffin Wax Manicure: - Deep skin moisturising - excellent for hydrating and softening dry and rough skin, making it particularly beneficial for those with dry or chapped hands - Ease the pain and stiffness of osteoarthritis - The heat can help increase blood flow, relax muscles, and decrease joint stiffness - Improved circulation - the heat from the paraffin wax can stimulate blood circulation, promoting relaxation and relieving muscle tension - Enhanced nail and cuticle health - can help improve the health and appearance of nails and cuticles - Relaxation and stress reduction - the warming sensation and pampering nature of a paraffin wax manicure/pedicure. A person should avoid using paraffin wax if they have: - Open cuts, wounds, or burns - Issues with sensation in their hands or feet - poor circulation or a history of numbness in hands/feet should not use paraffin wax, temperature may not be felt accurately - Sensitivity to any chemicals - rashes, swelling, or breakouts may occur if paraffin wax is used as it is a petroleum product.
